Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,293.73 points on Thursday, down by 0.08% or 0.99 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX SLIPS AROUND 1 POINT FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At Wednesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 2.78% to hit an all-time high of 1,294.72 points, with a record high daily trading volume of 35.1 billion Turkish liras (nearly $4.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.7160 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.7220 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 9.1520 from 9.1610, while one British pound traded for 10.2310 Turkish liras, down from 10.3000.
