Members of the treacherous terrorist organization PKK made an attempt to attack the General Directorate of Security in Ankara last week.
Police officers stationed at the guard post neutralized two terrorists when they detected the attack.
A high-level meeting took place at the Ministry of National Defense in the aftermath of the attack.
The meeting saw the participation of key officials, including Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, and MİT Chief İbrahim Kalın.
During the meeting, these officials discussed potential measures to be taken in the near future.
Foreign Minister Fidan emphasized that Türkiye’s stance in the fight against terrorism is unwavering. He highlighted the attack in the capital, stating, “Based on preliminary findings, it appears that the two terrorists came from Syria and received training here.”
Turkish security forces have already eliminated 16 targets belonging to terrorists in northern Iraq, and a significant number of terrorists have been neutralized.
Fidan reiterated Türkiye’s resolute stance against terrorism, emphasizing, “Henceforth, all infrastructure and superstructure energy facilities belonging to the PKK/YPG in Iraq and Syria are legitimate targets for our security forces and intelligence units.”
The minister asserted that Türkiye’s armed forces will respond firmly to the terrorist attack in Ankara, warning that those responsible will “regret their actions.”
