A 4-year-old girl was pulled out of the rubble alive on Tuesday days after a magnitude 6.6 earthquake hit Turkey’s Aegean region.
SHE SAID SHE WAS HUNGRY
Ayda Gezgin was rescued in the Bayrakli district of the Aegean Izmir province 91 hours after the quake.
Her first request from healthcare personnel in the ambulance was eating meatballs and drinking ayran (Turkish traditional drink made of yoghurt and water).

“Ayda you are a very sweet girl Ayda. Do you have any pain in your body? You don’t have any pain right? “What do you want?” emergency medical personnel asked.
Ayda told him she wants food. “What kind of food you want?” he further asked. Ayda answered: “Meatball and ayran (yoghurt drink)”. “You want meatballs and ayran? Okay. We are ordering now. Your father will come with us. Your uncle is here too. We will order, they will prepare that meal for you. “ he said.

Ayda, the 107th survivor to be rescued, was taken to hospital for treatment.
