At least four people, including two firefighters, were killed after a gas explosion at a bakery in the French capital Paris on Saturday, the country’s interior minister said.
The massive blast rocked buildings hundreds of meters away and blew out the entire ground floor of a building at rue Trevise, in the Grands Boulevards central Paris shopping district.
According to local media, the explosion is suspected to be caused by a gas leak.
Police said 20 people were seriously injured.
Paris police are on high alert on a ninth consecutive Saturday of yellow vest protests, with large parts of the city center blocked off by riot police.
