Magnitude 6.7 earthquake shakes Philippines

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 rocked the Philippines, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported Tuesday.

THE QUAKE STRUCK AT SEA AT A DEPTH OF 30 KM

According to the agency, the epicenter of the quake was 60 kilometers (37 miles) southeast of Masbate city in the Bicol region, and the  incident occurred 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) below the surface.

No tsunami alert was issued following the earthquake, and authorities in the Philippines have yet to share information regarding the damage caused.

The quake struck at sea at a depth of 30 km (18.64 miles), the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The Philippine seismology agency said there was no risk of a tsunami but warned of aftershocks.
