Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,170.54 points on Monday, up 4.84 points or 0.42% from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX RISES SOME 4.84 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At Friday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index went up 1.32% to 1,165.70 with a daily trading volume of some 19.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.48 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.8990 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, up from last week’s closing rate of 7.8890.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 9.3290, versus 9.3170, and one British pound traded for 10.3030 Turkish liras. It was 10.2650 at Friday’s close.
