Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,208.98 points on Tuesday, increasing 0.30% or 3.61 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX EARNS AROUND 3.61 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.06% to hit eight-month high of 1,205.37 points, with a daily trading volume of 22.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.81 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.9040 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.8910 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.3060 from 9.2930, while one British pound traded for 10.2620 Turkish liras, down from 10.2950.
