Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,220.88 points on Wednesday, increasing 0.87% or 10.47 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX EARNS AROUND 10.5 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 0.42% at 1,210.41 points — the highest close since Feb. 6 — with a daily trading volume of 22.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.85 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 7.8480 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.8760 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 9.3080 from 9.3210, while one British pound traded for 10.2230 Turkish liras, down from 10.2600.
