Polling started on Sunday for Turkey’s re-run local elections to elect a new mayor for Istanbul.
Opposition Good (IYI) Party leader Meral Akşener voted in the elections in Istanbul’s Beylerbeyi district.
Expressing her precatory words to the reporters, Akşener said: “It’s a shame the re-run of the Istanbul elections and yet we are here to fulfill our civic duty.”
