People in Istanbul flock to coastal areas as high temperatures affect daily lives in the megacity.

People living in Istanbul tried to cool off in the coastal areas due to the high temperatures on Wednesday.

The sweltering climate in the megacity led people to find cooler places such as parks and beaches. Some of them dived into the water as they were overwhelmed by the heat wave.

Some went to Caddebostan and Fenerbahçe coasts while others had picnics in shaded areas.

Üsküdar, Büyükçekmece, and Kartal were also other destinations for those who looked for cooling off on a hot day.

High temperature in Istanbul

Turkish state meteorological service says Istanbul will record a high temperature of 36 degrees Celsius on Friday.

The city will even see more than that, recording 37 on Sunday, according to weather forecasts.

People in Istanbul dive into the water to cool off on a hot day.

Baran Vançin, who went swimming, said that he and his friends have a swim every day because of the hot weather.
