Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,222.89 points on Tuesday, decreasing 0.70% or 8.65 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX DROPS 8.65 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 3.32% at 1,231.54 points, with a daily trading volume of 34.1 billion Turkish liras ($$4.21 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.3750 as of 9:35 a.m. local time (0635GMT), versus 8.1390 at the previous close.
The Euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.9000 from 9.7010, while one British pound traded for 11.0630 Turkish liras, up from 10.8040.
