Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,410.67 points on Wednesday, rising 0.41% or 5.70 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX GAINS 5.70 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.48% at 1,404.97 points, with a daily trading volume of 25.4 billion Turkish liras ($3.3 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.6560 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), rising from 7.6330.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 9.3430 from 9.3350, while one British pound traded for 10.2700 Turkish liras, up from 10.2590 at Tuesday’s close.
