Turkish forces seize sulfuric acid on way to Syria

According to the official report, 1,990 liters of sulfuric acid, a chemical prohibited to export, seized in the customs area of Kilis province.

Turkish customs officers on Thursday seized over 1,900 liters of sulfuric acid, an industrial chemical prohibited to export, in a truck in southeastern Turkey.

INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT IS UNDERWAY

When the truck heading to Syria arrived in the customs area in the Kilis province, officials in a search over suspicion found 1,990 liters of sulfuric acid inside the vehicle.

Sulfuric acid is one of the industrial chemicals mainly used in the manufacturing of powerful explosives.
