The unemployment rate in Turkey rose by 0.1 percentage point to 10.2% in October month-on-month, fresh data from the country’s statistical office showed on Monday.
In October versus September, the number of unemployed people age 15 and over increased by 57,000 to nearly 3.53 million, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The number of employed people in Turkey was up by 229,000 to over 31.2 million, placing the employment rate at 48% with a 0.3 percentage point increase from September.
“The youth unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group was 21.9% with 1.8 percentage points increase compared to the previous month,” TurkStat said.
