Turkey will penalize those who violate the personal quarantine rules in five cities – Afyonkarahisar, Sivas, Çankırı, Sakarya, and Düzce- governorships announced Wednesday.
In a joint statement, governorships have urged coronavirus patients who are self-isolating at home not to leave their houses under any circumstance.

The local governor’s offices reiterated that they have been meeting the needs of these patients in every way possible.Those who do not comply with the quarantine rules are imposed an administrative fine and also face criminal charges, the statement said.
According to the joint decision, those who violate the personal quarantine rules will be placed in student dormitories. In line with the penalties, they will be responsible for their expenses during their stay in the dormitories.
