Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,284.52 points on Thursday, up by 0.41% or 5.30 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX GAINS AROUND 5.30 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At Wednesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 2.91% to hit an all-time high of 1,279.22 points, with a record high daily trading volume of 52.5 billion Turkish liras (nearly $6.6 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.8800 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.8720 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.2660 from 9.2510, while one British pound traded for 10.4160 Turkish liras, down from 10.5110.
