Felicity Party (SP) chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu said the death penalty should be reinstated in Turkey.
During his program in Turkey’s Trabzon province, Karamollaoğlu mentioned debates regarding the death sentence in recent days.
“Crimes committed by terrorists, femicide, forest fires … no matter what, the death penalty should have been preserved. We are of the opinion that it is necessary to give the death penalty to brutal murders,” he said.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Marmaris of Muğla province to inspect the firefighting efforts.
The death penalty should be discussed, not only the forest but also the animals were on fire, said Erdoğan during his press conference in the region.
Marmaris wildfires are under control, said Vahit Kirişçi, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, following his inspections in the area in which Turkish firefighters were battling a blaze from the first day of the fires.
