Antalya has received more than 7 million tourists in the first seven months of the year, according to the latest figures announced by the city’s Culture and Tourism Provincial Directorate on Wednesday.
As a popular tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast, the city is growingly continuing to attract visitors from all around the world thanks to its sunny beaches, sands, and hospitable people.
A boom in tourist bookings
In July alone, approximately 85,000 foreign tourists per day landed in Antalya, a city where two airports Antalya and Gazipaşa-Alanya are in operation.
The number of foreign tourists arriving in the city was recorded at 7,037,883. This figure is related to the dates from January to mid-July.
15 million are expected this year
Türkiye sees a significant jump in the figure of arriving tourists compared to last year.
In the same period of 2022, 5,658,000 tourists visited the city. There is an increase of 24 percent in 2023.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has said they expect the number to exceed 15 million this year.
Antalya is the city where the country’s tourism sector earns the most income.
