Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela, the grandson of the former President of the Republic of South Africa Nelson Mandela, said that Türkiye would bind up wounds caused by devastating tremors centered in Kahramanmaras last month as soon as possible.
‘I strongly believe that’
“President Erdoğan’s government will build those houses within a year and deliver them to the earthquake victims,” said Mandela. “I strongly believe that.”
Mandela emphasized that solidarity was displayed not only in South Africa but throughout the continent when the quakes happened.
“I think this is very inspiring. I think it has contributed to developing the consciousness of collective action on the continent,” he said.
‘Türkiye is a powerful actor’
He also said he visited many places in Türkiye and witnessed significant changes. According to Mandela’s grandson, Türkiye as a powerful actor on the world stage is advancing in the field of industry and technology.
The relations between Türkiye and South Africa are progressively developing, he added.
