Turkey has been included in the EU Digital COVID Certificate system easing travels to member states of the EU, the country announced on Monday.
In an online statement, Turkey’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation said the EU Commission’s equivalence decision for vaccination certificates issued in Turkey had been published in the bloc’s Official Journal on Aug. 20.
The Adequacy Decision had been approved by the commission a day earlier, it added.
With the move, those who have a vaccine certificate and a valid visa will be able to travel to the EU’s 27 countries amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
On August 19, Brussels said that Turkey, Ukraine and North Macedonia were given equivalence to the COVID Vaccine certificates and announced that mutual travel would be facilitated.
